2024 Camp Sessions
We are so excited to be offering another full summer of camps this upcoming summer! Registrations are now live to register for camp this summer! Here is our schedule (all camps are the grade your camper has just completed):
TBD: Spring Cleaning Work Week
Volunteer Wake Up Camp Days JUNE 18,19,20 DURING STAFF WEEK
Lake Chenango Retreat, under the leadership of the new property owner Ian Balheim, is thriving. The grounds are full of life and activity darn close to year round. In order to keep the assets and supplies of Camp Talahi secure, at the end of the camp season they are inventoried and packed away in the Craft Cabin and Camp store. Moving our volunteer work days to Staff week allows Ian to gain an income generating weekend while we focus our resources on getting everything set for the campers arrival.
June 23-28: CIT Camp (grades 9-11): Being a counselor-in-training (CIT) is a leadership opportunity for high school students. CITs lead younger campers during their camp sessions, helping younger kids make friends, try new things, and have a great time. CIT camp is an opportunity to learn all the skills it takes to be an amazing counselor, from leading songs and games to public speaking, time management and group leadership. Being a CIT is one of the best experiences at Camp Talahi! You must attend this training week to be a CIT for summer 2020. At camp, CITs will be assigned to 1-2 additional camp sessions to volunteer for.
July 5 July 7: Transgender and Gender Diverse Middle School Camp (grades 6-8):Our Transgender Teen Camp was so popular last year, we’ve decided to separate them and have a middle school session and a high school session just for Transgender Teens to enjoy a whole week at camp! Spend a week in a supportive, relaxing environment while partaking in traditional camp activities such as lake front, camp fires, arts and crafts, hiking, boating, and more!
June 30-July 4: Transgender and Gender Diverse High School Camp (grades 9-12): Our Transgender Teen Camp was so popular last year, we’ve decided to separate them and have a middle school session and a high school session just for Transgender Teens to enjoy a whole week at camp! Spend a week in a supportive, relaxing environment while partaking in traditional camp activities such as lake front, camp fires, arts and crafts, hiking, boating, and more!
July 14-17: Mini Camp (grades K-2nd): Created for our youngest campers who are ready for a 3-night sleepover, this shortened version of our camp program offers a great introduction to summer camp. Campers will be able to swim, hike, craft, play, sing and explore under the supervision of a trained staff. This session is for campers who have completed kindergarten to 2nd grade.
July 14-19: Junior Camp (Grades 3-5): A long-standing Talahi tradition, this camp is a full five day session of all the activities you’d expect from summer camp. Campers will work together to finish our Adventure Course, plan the evening Vespers service, canoe on our secluded lake, and make crafts and (it almost goes without saying) memories to last a lifetime! For campers who have completed grades 3-5. Session options available for horse back riding, archery, and an off site canoe trip!
July 12-14: Young Adults Camp: Connect with friends, relive old memories and make new ones during a fun-filled weekend at camp. Whether you have years of history at Talahi or you’ve never been before, this retreat offers the opportunity to relax, connect, explore, and discuss matters of faith in a safe, welcoming setting. For adults ages 18+
July 12-14: Gender Diverse Young Adults Camp: Trans and gender non-conforming young adults, such as recent high school graduates and beyond, are invited to spend the weekend at Camp Talahi. We understand ‘young adult’ can be ambiguous, so feel free to contact Kim with any questions, comments, or concerns. For adults ages 18+
July 12-14: Family Camp: Camp Talahi is a great time for the whole family and friends! All generations, all family types, chosen and biological family, and of course Talahi singles. Enjoy camp’s beautiful scenery during a laid-back weekend for families of all shapes and sizes. The schedule for family camp is flexible, and our Counselors in Training will be on hand to offer games, crafts, nature hikes, and activities for kids of all ages. There will also be lifeguards on duty and plenty of time to swim and build sand castles, which is always a family camp favorite activity! Young Adult camps run concurrently. Families can choose to stay in our modern dorms, go tent camping in the camper’s meadow, or may opt to for an RV (limited number of outlets available in field).
July 7-12: Jr. High Camp (Grades 6-8): Camp Talahi is excited to continue hosting a traditional session specifically for middle schoolers! JR High Camp will incorporate all of the fun activities that our previous MADD, GAS, AND Adventure camps offered, PLUS will give campers the opportunity to experience all of the traditional and fun summer camp activities.
Campers will have the opportunity to complete the Adventure Course, do arts and crafts, hike, swim, canoe, play lots of field games, and still be able to have fun with dance and drama sessions, and fun science activities. For campers who have completed grades 6-8. Session options include horse back riding, archery, and an off site canoe trip!
July 21-26 Sr. High Camp (Grades 9-11): Senior High Camp combines the camping activities we all know and love with new experiences and challenges. In this five day session campers can leave the pressures of high school behind, connect to friends new and old, and grow and revitalize a personal relationship with God. For campers who have completed grades 9-12. Session options include horse back riding, archery, and an off site canoe trip!
